Bright by Text

Best Beginnings of Yellowstone County has teamed up with the Best Beginnings coalitions in Big Horn, Carbon, and Dawson Counties to bring Bright by Text to Yellowstone County! The program, already offered in many communities around the nation, offers parents and caregivers expert tips and resources for children prenatal to 5 years old right at their fingertips.

During the early years, a child’s brain develops at a faster rate than it will at any other point in their life. In fact, 90% of brain development happens by age 5! The interactions that a child has with adult caregivers during this critical stage of life sets the foundation on which all later learning, behavior, and health depends.

Bright by Text helps parents and caregivers make the most out of their early interactions by suggesting fun and easy activities, providing positive parenting tips and resources, ways to aid a child’s physical development, and much more. The program is proven to build nurturing caregiver-child relationships and positively impact a child’s healthy development and school readiness.

In addition to expert content, Bright by Text includes messages about free and low-cost events and resources specific to the Billings area, such as health clinics, preschool enrollment periods, and fun events for families.

To sign up, parents and caregivers with children under 5 years old can text 406Parents to 274448. They will receive 2 to 5 text messages per week that includes a link to a landing page with more detail, short modeling videos, and links to related resources.

Sign up by texting '406Parents' to 274448
